Joe Cipriano gives us the gift of song...

Joe Cipriano writes:

I LOVE YOU! A BUSHEL AND A PECK
Words And Music Frank Loesser
Illustrated by Rosemary Wells

Some books beg to be read aloud. The words must tumble off the tongue
in order to be fully appreciated. This is one such gem. Taken from
the song "A Bushel and a Peck," the lyrics have a lighthearted,
bouncy quality.

"I love you, a bushel and a peck,
A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck,
Hug around the neck and a barrel and a heap,
Barrel and a heap and I'm talkin' in my sleep about you.
About you?
About you!"

You just can't resist falling into the rhythm! The words and music
are even included in the back of the book. And as if the lyrics
themselves weren't enough, accompanying the text are Rosemary Wells's
sunny illustrations. The drawings are bold and cheery with a spunky
pair of ducklings bouncing across the pages, enacting the storyline.
The sheer silliness of these ducks will have a toddler in stitches.
So grab your favorite little one and warm up your singing voice. You
might even be rewarded with a hug around the neck!
